April, 2008. Fishing season is here! - 05 Apr 2008
Just One More has new bottom paint, a new coat of wax and is ready to go. The problem is that the wind has been blowing very hard for a couple of weeks now. The few boats that have made it out on the infrequent fishable day report a few blackfin tuna and some wahoo being caught.
Hopefully the gulf stream will move in a bit closer in a few days, and the wind will stop blowing. As soon as it does, we are going tuna hunting.
Dates are being filled rapidly. Call now to reserve your trip!
Tight lines,
Summer update and fall outlook - 07 Sep 2007
Well, it has been a long time between reports here. I've just been so busy that I haven't gotten around to it, so here is an overview.
Dolphin fishing was great this year, and we were very lucky that when they started moving out that the wahoo stayed around in big numbers. The tuna were few and far between this year. Some nice action on sailfish rounded out a fun summer.
For the fall, the tuna have started showing up and there have been some nice catches brought back to the dock. The wahoo are still here, so it looks like a nice fall season is on hand if we can keep the storms away.
We are taking bookings for the fall and for next spring, so get your reservation in soon. Tight lines,
Capt Don
Fishing May 2 and 3, 2007 - 04 May 2007
Had a great group of guys from Columbia. Wednesday we worked the ledge for most of the day and caught 10 dolphin and a bunch of barracudas. Baked sausage biscuits (not microwaved) and hot dogs and home made chili held the hunger off between fish.
Thursday the water had moved offshore. We started at the ledge and caught a couple of dolphin and lost a very nice tuna after he spit the hook not too far from the boat. We moved offshore and found a weedline with some nice size dolphin, including a bull 36.45#. We cooked some fresh dolphin on the grill today. Beautiful day on the water.
Report March 13, 2007 - 13 Mar 2007
We are starting to get some warmer water offshore, and it will not be long before the tuna arrive.
We are getting last minute maintenence done on the boat so we will be ready. As soon as we get a nice weather report we will be chasing the tuna.
The hottest fishing is always mid April to mid June. Call us soon to set up your fishing trip.
Tight Lines,
Capt Don
Bluefin tuna - 23 Dec 2006
December 23rd. The fish are starting to show up. We are now in Morehead City, NC and the fishing has picked up somewhat. We caught a 622 pound fish a few days ago (see photos). January is typically the best month. Give us a call to get in on the January action.
Bluefin tuna - 18 Sep 2006
There are reports of very good catches of bluefin tuna around Nantucket. This usually means very good fishing this winter in North Carolina. Please contact us about times this winter before we fill up.

SC Saltwater Fishing Report - 18 Sep 2006
The offshore season in South Carolina usually starts in March. We may see some early tuna, but it can also be a bit windier.
In April and May, the fishing is hot. Dolphin, Tuna, Wahoo are all usually in abundance
June and early July the fishing is still good. The later in the summer we go, the tuna leave, the dolphin and wahoo slow down, bit the billfish bite starts up.
In late July and August, we still have billfish, but all other fishing is usually slow except spotted wahoo (Barracuda).
In September and October the fishing depends on how fast the Gulf Stream cools down. We can possibly see a nice fall run of tuna or wahoo if the weather cooperates
In Novemer through Februray we will usually be in North Carolina fishing for Blue Fin Tuna. If you have never caught this "granddaddy of all sportfish", please contact us about the fishing experience of a lifetime
